A Dream of Paper Flowers is an avant-garde poetry film. It is an art film. It is a soundscape steeped in allegory, a capsule of femmy horror, unnerving and captivating. A glimpse into the raw, jagged coals of the female psyche.

MOUNTAINS IN THE WINTER NIGHT

DIDING TIAN

Diding Tian is an image maker, studying at London College of Communication, MA Illustration & Visual Media.

Mountains in the Winter Night is about mountains and the reflection of them in the human mind. An image of a mountain at winter night creates stillness. It is dark, silent and cold but it has a presence. This causes me to think about the relationship I have with mountains. I believe there are some moments in everybody’s life when they reflect themselves on nature. So here comes Gleb's story.

DIGITAL-PRINT/ANALOG + AUTOMATIC

RE/COLLECTIVE

Re/Collective is formed of Pixie and Louisiane who are both multi-disciplinary designers and

Art Directors who are based in London. Working with moving images, set design and

graphics, they work collectively to combine Pixie's interest in the complexities in the portrayal

of the human body and Louisiane's interest in Technology futures.

Digital + Print reflects and teases man's endless invention that replicates human movements. Having worked closely with various printing process in our previous works, we imagined ourselves inside a digital printer and wondered what it might look like with human hands replacing the mechanic arms of a printer.

Analog + Automatic is a tongue in cheek challenge of the notion that robots are better at most thing. We tasked a robot to use everyday tools from London-based stationery store Present & Correct and concluded that it's not good with everything after all.

ROSE / LIGHTWORK - AKIINE

GRACE EMILY MANNING

Grace Emily Manning is an artist and maker exploring the medium of stop-motion animation; taking influence from ecology, cosmology and microscopic natural forms. Grace's moving image work aims to not only personify matter, but confuse our association with it and by doing so distort our perception of reality. Employing a diverse range of media and gathered organic materials to craft enchanting artificial worlds that host surreal and abstract story structures.

A shamanic light worker ambles the tendrils of a sick celestial woodland beyond the exosphere, and comes across the cause of its suffering. A tortoise lay wounded, a thorn pricked deep in her belly. Swallowing her pain, the shaman casts a portal to the spheres of the spirit world. Tuning in to cosmic frequencies, primordial sounds and harmonic resonance that evokes an ethereal trance to the language of light. Ecology and spirituality orbit Lightwork, echoing messages of sacrifice, healing and the tender intercourse between soul, life cycles and environment. A mantra in a mirrored space sitting between sickness and health, dark and light, silence and symphony.

CRAMPED

SUZANNE MATHARAN

Suzanne Matharan is a London based French animator in her 3rd year at London College of Communication.

This is an animation about working in cubicles, slightly caricatured. It's a half full, half empty situation: either the viewer can see it as 'Yes! One is out!'; or 'Damned that makes no difference, he's already replaced'.
